You can set metronomes by this timbre; and each line is soaked in dreary monotony, so richly described. Maybe it's me, but it's not depressed, but a wink and a nudge, an subtle undercurrent of wry acceptance here. Bravo

Love the ending. Indeed we all feel the monotony somedays and yet the spark still lives if we can wake ourselves to feel it. 🙏🏼

"Somewhere a storm forgets to start' - stayed with me. I like the rhythm of your poem, but what I loved most is that it isn’t heavy, like monotony. Quite the opposite.

Aw, thanks for your kind words, Phoeby. Glad you liked it! 🙏💙

Sometimes the monotonous bullshit is all we got. It's finding the joy in it thats difficult

That's for sure. Thank you so much for reading. 🙏 ♥️

Man, what cohesion. The form and rhymes so well play into the monotony you can’t help but read it in an almost dismissive tone. Then the tiny ember in that last stanza. Very very well done. Thank you for the reminder that even the mundane can say something. I need to go write now.

Hey, thank you so much! I was feeling pretty dull yesterday, so that was the spark I needed. So glad you liked it! 💙
