Such a beautiful and tender musing. Such a sweet reminder that, in the vast expanse of the universe, there is a place for us where we can be free and we can make a home for ourselves. Great sonnet!

The world with all its details β€” from galaxies down to villages down to oranges and pencil tracks and xyz…

The sun sends particles relentlessly which make the sky glow green and purple while we are busy colouring our nails, or arguing about tabs vs. spaces, pineapple on pizza, whatever.

And in every drop of orange juice there is (on average) the same mix of the whole fruit. The largest machines can analyze the smallest things.

Josh, your poem turns the vast indifference of the universe into a canvas for quiet, human beauty. Each line reminds us that meaning can bloom even where nothing seems to matter.

The cosmic indifference and the held door existing side by side feels right. Maybe meaning isn’t erased by scale. Maybe it’s defined by proximity.

"entropy will claim what love has grown

as surely as it snuffs the candle’s flame."

These lines are beautiful and they capture the fleeting nature of all life beautifully.
