I don't know if death seemed more attractive to me until now. To see life from the perspective of death - wow! Or to live life knowing that you are already stardust - it takes some life experience to understand the meaning so deeply. Beautiful poem!!!

"Life... precious because it ends,

not despite, no need to mend,

like water, beauty’s only caught,

between the is and is-not."

I want to steal this entire stanza and put it in my pocket!

This line really stood out for me, “This isn’t sorrow, this is sight, to see the day means knowing night,” I really, really loved it, Josh. This piece is just beautiful. It brings to mind an older song by Jason Mraz called Life is Wonderful; you might like it.

Such a beautiful way to describe life. There is a contrast in every aspect of life. A moment can be lost but it can be lived too deeply. To feel warmth of something in the moment requires to have a cold stance against fear. Bloom and decay move together, waiting for their turn. So is life and death but to enjoy one means to calmly embrace the other as well. Really loved it Josh.

This is stunning, Josh. There’s such a beautiful truth in the way you hold life and death together as if they’re simply two sides of the same breath. “Each breath a gift we cannot keep” stopped me for a moment.

Great words. I like how those opposites are turned to be shown as actually almost the same.

Had a real great flow to it, too. I enjoyed reading it.
